Our Mission

The mission of the Tempe Union High Schools Education Foundation (TUHSEF) is to generate resources and build community partnerships to support Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) students and programs, reflecting the District’s diversity and unity of spirit.

The Tempe Union High Schools Education Foundation (TUHSEF) is a volunteer based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1993.  We proudly provide assistance for outstanding, innovative projects and many distinctive programs that help enhance the educational experience for students in the Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD).

 

The Foundation supports innovative teacher projects that boost student achievement at all grade levels and in all subject areas; mentor and tutor programs that help students develop positive attitudes about school, life and themselves; at-risk student summer school programs, after school programs and various special education programs.

OUR TEAM

Area Served By TUHSEF

TUHSEF supports 162 square miles that includes the City of Tempe, parts of Phoenix, west Chandler, the Gila River Indian Community and the Town of Guadalupe, including the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.

How Many Do We Serve?

  • 14,012 students in grades 9-12
  • 1,362 staff members

 

Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) consists of six comprehensive high schools and one non-traditional high school all with ethnically and economically diverse student populations. Five of the seven schools are Title I schools with more than 40 percent (or more) of the student population coming from at-risk low income families. The Foundation Board is comprised of individuals that have a passion for finding ways to support educational programs and projects that may not be funded by the State budget or limited District funds.
